The premise for these dinners is simple – it is a special gathering of fabulous women working in and around the private investment industry who are generous of spirit and looking to drive value to each other's professional and personal goals.

There is a bit of theatre when we change places after every course, and some other traditions that have become part of the foundation of these dinners -- but rest assured, this formula has been working for almost two decades.

When you put 30 fabulous women in a room careers advance, deals get done, capital is committed and, well, it always makes for a spectacular evening!

Now in the planning stages for the 4^th Annual Insight Day, this event focused on bringing students in the Southeast, with a particular focus on students at HBCUs to enjoy a day and a half in Miami with a dinner, and a full day of thoughtful content, roundtables and networking.

The event is followed up by an “Ask Me Anything” series where the community endures and works to continue to elevate and advance all of the participants in their career journey.

Events at WAVE take all forms, sometimes taking women out of their comfort zone and into learning something completely new such as – STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING.

With the assistance of expert SUP instructors, a cohort of daring WAVE members took an evening paddle on the mighty Potomac River and then cemented the connections with the other participants while raising a glass to everyone’s new paddling prowess.

There are several industry conferences each year where many of our members attend.  We often take this opportunity to host an event to provide our members a respite from the demands attendant to conference participation.

This event is exactly as it sounds.  After all the content, the networking sessions, meetings and cocktail hours of the conference, our attendees are invited to join us at a suite at the hotel venue where they literally “leave your heels at the door,” don a complimentary pair of yoga socks, enjoy a decadent chocolate treat and a last glass of champagne, and network with other women in the industry who are similarly grateful to finally be out of their heels and surrounded by supportive and generous peers.

With WAVE’s Office Hours series LPs offer a traditional webinar on a topic of interest (such as recent trends in Venture Capital fundraising), followed by a dozen or so 10-minute slots where GPs have an opportunity to have focused interaction with a leading LP.

The addition of individual meetings with the host elevates the event from a passive one-way presentation to a high engagement, interactive discussion where both the GP and the LP walk away with value and meaningful connection.
